St Mary’s Music Club is an after school club for primary aged children on Wednesday afternoons in term time (3.30-4.45pm). The aim of the club is to give children an opportunity to learn more about music and to enjoy creating music. As a church-run group, the club has a Christian flavour with some Christian music to be learned and a short talk each session (rather like a snippet of school assembly). In addition to this, each session features:
- Singing together as a choir – working towards an end of term performance. This term we will be working on one or two songs to sing at the parish carol service.
- Music theory teaching – learning musical words, ideas and symbols through fun quizzes and games
- Basic piano, singing and percussion teaching from our experienced and well-qualified leaders
- Refreshments (squash, fruit and a biscuit)
The first session of the half term will be on Wednesday 31st Oct. If you would like your child to attend, please complete the application form: Music Club Registration Form
The cost of the half term will be £10, payable on collection of your child. Whole terms will cost £20. If you are in receipt of pupil premium, please let us know. The club is run by volunteers and the fee helps us cover the costs of refreshments and heating etc.
