Military Wives Choir
The Marchword Military Wives Choir will be performing at Saint Michael’s Church on the 2nd May for the Maytime Music event. Make sure you don’t miss this wonderful event.
Meet Brass in harmony
The Brass in Harmony quartet is coming to St. Michael’s on May 2nd. They will play at our ‘Maytime Music’ concert, when the Military Wives will also perform.
The quartet was formed in 2017 and is based around the Dorset/Hampshire border. All four players are experienced brass musicians and also play in other local bands and ensembles. The quartet’s repertoire embraces a wide range of easy-to-listen-to music including classical, swing, musical theatre, film and TV themes, a little jazz and instrumental versions of all-time favourite songs. It will be exciting to find out what they play for us.
Playing engagements are many and various. In addition to playing published music, the quartet also uses its own arrangements and original compositions. The members of the quartet are:
David Cornford – Flugel horn/cornet/trumpet
Cliff Brock – Tenor horn
Peter Guntrip – Baritone horn/trombone (Peter also founded the quartet)
Tony Kent – Tuba
